Are you aware that it is North Korea that is developing nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles? Do you seriously expect South Korea to neglect its defense and not take measures to protect itself from North Korea?
Hanaguma
L'il Kim gets grumpy when he is ignored, so he does the tyrant's version of throwing his toys out of the play pen. In his case, shooting his rockets. Gotta be some psychology there.... People in Japan are noticing the definite uptick in missile launches since Biden took over the presidency.

I do think that if South Korea left North Korea alone , NK wouldnt keep firing missiles and unstabilising the region . There needs to be dialogue between NK and SK and USA , like Biden should go and meet with Kim , send him letters and be friends with him , no need to send the USA military to the region to scare NK into reacting

South Korea should just assume North Korea will leave it alone if South Korea ignores it? I think South Korea knows a lot more about how to deal with its neighbor than you. Regarding Biden copying the Trump approach; why? What good came of it?

Eric Loh
North Korea will not stop to provoke South Korea. The previous South Korea President Moon who scaled back joint military exercises and public display of military strength to reduce tension have not worked. The current President Yoon is a conservative and will match North Korea tit-for-tat. The way to handle peace in the peninsula is through strength and certainly not by love letters. So its "peaceful" when USA/SK are sailing around the peninsula and showing off their might and NK retaliate by firing rockets , that is peaceful and sending friendly letters to each other is hostile? There were no NK missile tests whilst Trump was speaking with Kim, Zero NK missile tests for 18 months between November 2017 and May 2019 whilst "love letters" were being exchanged . There have been 35 NK missile launches since Trump left the POTUS job

The USA/ SK war games , where they practice invading North Korea is viewed as provocation by NK and they respond by firing missiles as a warning . If the USA would stop practicing invading NK , NK would stop firing their missiles . That is the plot , its you who doesn't understand the plot

Once North Korea got all that attention from Trump after making wild threats and firing off missiles, it learned that acting belligerently was the best way to weaken the alliance between the US and South Korea. South Korea knows that not showing determination is the best way to encourage North Korea to continue its bellicose ways.
