Battery Charger Recommendations

Featured Replies

I need a 12V battery charger for my deisel genset.

Mainly to float charge the diesel battery.

I had a great one, a CTEK MXS 5.0. Worked really well till it failed.

Looking at a replacement price of around B5000 for the same unit, I was thinking of asking here if anyone can recommend a good unit at a lesser price.

If not then I'll buy another CTEK MXS 5.0.

I wouldn't buy another CTEK.

They are not cheap and both the ones I had failed.  The same problem with each one; the on/off/mode switch stopped working.

I use cheap ones that I bought in the UK from B&Q.  They work fine.  About 1200 Baht each at current exchange rates.

Lazada has 43,000 12V battery chargers listed.

A TV repair shop might be able to repair it.

Thanks @In the jungleI took off the base and played with the switch, all good now.

About B300 for cost of unit when i looked.

B5000 No way. But....worked well.

Yes if the Ctek fails its usually the switch. I brought an older one to thailand 5 years ago, and soon I had to play like crazy with the switch to turn it on.

Local TV shop fixed that dirt cheap, still works today????
