Naew Na reported that a great deal of damage has been done to crops by wild elephants foraging for food in the area of the Thap Lan national park in Wang Nam Khiaw district of Nakhon Ratchasima, NE Thailand.

A herd of 40 animals have exited the park to eat cassava, corn and eucalyptus on public land.

The elephants left their calling card in the form of droppings after feasting on farmers' crops.

They are the same herd that have been causing damage elsewhere, local officials stated.

Well, take away their land and they’ll take your food for compensation.

This could've been prevented. Why don't they enclose the Park to keep the animals in the park.

If there's enough food for them in the park it shouldn't be a problem.

Free compost, what's the problem?
