Can anyone tell me if the following are available in Chiang Mai and the approximate cost? Thanks!!

 

Metoprolol Succinate (50 mg)

Lisinopril (5 mg)

Rosuvastatin (40 mg)

Ezetimibe (10 mg)

Allopurinol (300 mg)

Next question..... since they have these things at the pharmacy can I just go in and ask the pharmacist for them or do I need a prescription from a doctor?

Almost all non opiate drugs are over the counter in Thailand (but not all drug stores will have everything and some do require a registered pharmacist be on duty).

medtide.com was recommended to me on this site when I asked about getting cheap citalopram.

 

they use Kerry Express to ship but the website is a bit average and takes a bit of getting used to. 

 

I use them to get cheap(er) escitalopram and rosuvastin.

A system like in western countries, where you need a prescription from a doctor to purchase drugs in a 3rd party pharmacy, doesn’t exist in Thailand.

If a pharmacy has a certain drug they will sell it to you, no prescription required. There are certain controlled drugs, but regular pharmacies don’t have them, for these drugs you would have to see a doctor in a hospital and you would then get them from the hospital's pharmacy.
