Sanook Thai Caption: He started it and ended up worse off

It was a fight that attracted a lot of social media attention after many saw CCTV.

A thin man had walked into a noodle shop in Buriram where a fat man was sitting alone at a table.

No one else was in the restaurant on Thursday morning.

All the other tables were free but the thin guy went to sit at the fat guy's table.

Soon a violent argument developed in which they both "bottled' each other before the fat guy fell unconscious and ultimately needed 50 stitches to head wounds.

Twenty soft drinks bottles were smashed as the two protagonists went for each other.

Sanook followed up.

The thin guy was Phanudech, 25, who said he knew the fat guy as someone who lived with friends.

He claimed that fatty smiled at him so he sat down with him.

He noticed his large number of tattoos and asked what he had done time for.

The reply was "attempted murder - I did seven years".

At this point the fat guy attacked him with a bottle and the fight escalated until all the bottles in a storage area were used up.

Khomsan or Num, 38, the fat guy said he'd never met the other person before and he was being nosey about his past.

He said that he told the guy he sold pork and the thin guy said: "So do you sell dog too."

He admitted he was given to violent outbursts but the thin guy was well out of order and had tried to kill him after he fell over and couldn't defend himself.

He called him a wannabe gangster.

Num's mum said the family had paid 14,000 baht in damages to the restaurant.

The spat looks set to wind up in court.
