Merriam-Webster picks ‘gaslighting’ as word of the year

But in recent years, we have seen the meaning of gaslighting refer also to something simpler and broader: “the act or practice of grossly misleading someone, especially for a personal advantage.” In this use, the word is at home with other terms relating to modern forms of deception and manipulation, such as fake news, deepfake, and artificial intelligence.

Spot on. And the key point is that the left actually FORCED people to accept these fallacies and would punish you for saying the truth. That is the key difference between conservatives saying they doubt election results(as did Biden, Hillary and many many dems) which is their opinion. They NEVER forced liberals to agree with them.

So due to the left forcing people to accept lies that benefit the democrat party they are of course much better examples of gaslighters.

When were you ever punished for saying the truth?

Anyone that factually stated on forums that Hunter Biden's laptop was real as corroborated by the Biden's business partner Tony Bobulinski who was cc'd in the email chain, and who confirmed 100% that Joe Biden was "the big guy" was banned from participating any longer.

Anyone that factually stated that Smollett's lynching was a hoax for the first week or so, and that Harris's and Booker etc's tweets blaimng Trump/MAGA for the lynching were inappropriate was banned from internet forums.

Now, losing your voice might not be the end of the world, but still this was punishment for speaking the truth, and liars that had a false narrative beneficial to the democrat party were encouraged. Relevant seeing as the OP is about gaslighting. There is no worse gaslighting than FORCING people to accept a false narrative.

How did they force people to accept anything? Banning gaslighting on social media, correctly or otherwise, doesn't force anybody to do anything.

Calm down mate. No one in USA are losing their voices even if their narratives are incendiary, conspiratorial, asinine or down right lies. There will always be a welcoming alternative media or friendly cable channel for those who indulge in gaslighting and disseminating their twisted narratives. Just ask Greene and her likes and even the most controversial former POTUS who consistently gaslight. No one are forced to accept those kind of nonsense non credible narratives. Most will just display their displeasures at the ballot boxes.

Firstly to be very clear, this is not a reference to ASEAN NOW.

I’m not convinced that claims of being banned from Internet forums are anything beyond claims of being banned from Internet forums.

Or indeed that the stated reason is the actual reason.

Seems much more like conspiracy theorizing and painting a picture of being a victim of such a conspiracy, which is an identifiable characteristic of rightwing grievance nurturing.

He was referring to being punished not being forced. You changed the topic of his response completely for some reason.

Your first sentence sounds like you are completely scared of something. Why?
