  • There were more farang and they were hassled less when her party was last in power. What are you basing your statement on?

  • I thought they said it was a "think BIG" manifesto. I doubt any of these points will be met. Just talk to make themselves sound good. Kind of like the US Congress.

This has hit the International news media - great!!

"BANGKOK (AP) — The daughter of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra promised a new era of social equality on Tuesday, saying if her party is elected to power in next year's election it will bring an end to poverty in the Southeast Asian nation................The next four years will be the years that our country will bounce back and regain our dignity and pride," she said. "To think big and act smart will help rebuild our country and improve the livelihood of Thai people – as if it’s a miracle."

Well I sort of agree with you but,

In 2018 most of the tourists came from countries bordering France so the cost to visit would cost less than an air ticket to Thailand. In fact a family of 4 could all travel in one car and the cost would be far less than 4 tickets to Thailand.

In the first part only the USA would have large travel costs.

Number of stays
In 2019, tourists from the following countries spent the most nights in France:

It seems as though 8 out of 10 countries here neighbour France once again.

Democracy might be in theory always better. But in real life?

Some democratically elected leaders soon act like dictators. No accountability, corrupt, nepotism, and and and.

Democracy would be wonderful with educated well informed voters. That is unfortunately not reality in Thailand - and many other countries.

What you really mean, as indicated by your all too frequent observations here, is that democracy is only acceptable if it results in a government of which you approve.

Since the Thai electorate consistently choose a government of which you disapprove, then you do not consider them to be worthy of democracy.

Frankly it shows the contempt with which you hold both the Thai electorate and the ideal of democratic government.

use the Governments money in the form of populist policies , many people thought

The Governments money belongs to the people. Why shouldn't it be spent on them?

Yes, obviously it's better to live under the generals that keep the masses uninformed so that they can rule in perpetuity.....:coffee1:
