Amazing Thailand: Villagers hope for lottery riches from "World Cup" termite mound!

Thai Rath reported from the north east of Thailand where locals were busy praying to a termite mound outside a grocer's that resembles the World Cup trophy.

 

They are convinced they can divine numbers for the state lottery from the mound. Failing that they will get rich on the number of the house.

 

The media had a picture of some hopeful winners with joss-sticks, candles and special red water squatting by the mound that was adorned with a garland.

 

The grocer's is in the village of Ban Takothong, Sap Yai district in Chaiyaphum province.

 

The house owner Lamphen Prasert, 61, said that 4-5 days ago she had noticed a pile of earth outside the shop door and got her husband to shovel it away thinking nothing of it.

 

But overnight a termite mound started forming and this had grown exponentially in the subsequent days and now looked just like the World Cup.

A "mor duu" or fortune teller was summoned and they stated that this was clearly what is known as "Phaya Pan Khaen", a phenomenon whereby luck will come three times then be followed by a fourth time that would be even luckier.

 

Lamphen said that the owner of the house had died three months ago and everyone was telling her it was a sign from the grave to bring luck to the villagers.

 

She said it was up to them whatever they believed.

 

So what is the number of the house?

 

It's 96 in Moo 5.

That termite mound has a striking resemblance to Harry Kane about to take a penalty. That’s it,I’m taking the 800k to qualify for my visa extension out of the bank and betting it all on Harry to score the final penalty in the WC final. Inside the mound termites are counting the number of people that turn up to pray, per day, during it's construction.

 

Using those numbers they will determine the correct numbers required to win the Termite Lottery.

 

It works every time..........that is the sole reason that they build mounds.
