India ATM now dispenses gold coins

MUMBAI, Dec 8 (Reuters) - From the outside, it looks just like a regular cash dispenser, but this is India's first ever "gold ATM", delivering gold coins at the click of a button in a country where gold is often seen as a safe and preferred investment.

I hope they have better sense and leave them home and not out be and about with them in Thailand. I wonder if they will expand the product offerings to include necklaces in the future. ????

Thieving Pattaya Beach Road "girls", rejoice, more gold is on the way.

It's a nice arrangement for buying gold but not for transaction of other goods and services. For example, you can't pay for for your foods in a restaurant using gold.

Sure you can, I'm sure every establishment would honor gold coins!  Just don't expect to get any change back.

May not be. They would doubt if it is real gold or fake and reject it.

Living in Thailand is like living in a cartoon.

Friend made this observation years ago and it's often helped.
