Sandboxer
ALmost 50 and looking into getting the OA. Here's a screenshot of the official e-visa https://thaievisa.go.th/long-stay-visa requirements page. The way it reads, only OX can purhase/register vehicles. Or is this a graphics TiT-up on their part?

In Bangkok for a residence certificate you need to have have made a 90 day report. 3
xeniv23
I'm here on an O-A based on retirement. I went and got a residency certificate and bought a vehicle six weeks after arriving in country. January 2021.

This is absolutely correct...at Immigration. Learned it the hard way a few years back. Went to the US Embassy (not sure about other countries) and was able to get a notarized statement affirming/confirming my address which was sufficient for driving license. nigelforbes
There is absolutely no problem buying a vehicle on any long stay visa, O-A or O, whether or not it can be done on a short stay visa I'm unsure. I've bought a new car on an O-A visa and also a pickup, no problem.
cjinchiangrai
I had done the 90 day anyway but registering the car and bike was easy enough. I got 4 residence letters and did the vehicles and licenses at the same time, Now I have to go renew ????

Oz folk cannot obtain "letter" from embassy.
