I use google. Its easy to load with not alot of graphics. In internet explorer go to tools, internet options and on the general tab you will see the home page option. I make it simple, make sure you are on the page you want to use as your home page and then click the "use current" button and then click ok at the bottom of the menu.

A small addition to SBKs perfect explanation.

If your homepage insists on changing back to the 'crappy website' then you've probably caught one of the numerous adware beasties that hack this function, time to update your anti-adware / anti-virus software :o

Was it really that hard to click Help in Internet explorer and search the index for "home page". Changing it is the first match.

In many, many ways Google is becoming a way too powerful factor on almost all Internet realms (just ask the website entrepreneurs hoping to make a few bucks for survival).

If you don't have a preferred website to use as home page, I'll make it even simpler than the quoted poster - forget the complications associated with first loading a website, but otherwise - do as described EXCEPT that you click the button labeled "Use Blank". That page has no graphic at all and loads in about a billionth of a second (even in those quite many situations, where Google's server is down or overloaded).

It's a lot easier to ask here. It is what the forum is for isn't it?

I asked a question, someone was kind enough to reply.

You, have done nothing to help, but instead , oh never mind.
