Thai Rath reported that the Crime Suppression Division police arrested a man called Jittraphon Nisarat at a hospital in Ratchathewi, Bangkok, yesterday.

The 28 year old was named in a November 2020 warrant for conspiracy to commit fraud and defrauding the public.

Back in 2019 police say that Jittraphon pretended to be an army major and the son of the deputy chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (the Thai stock market).

Along with two others it is claimed that he ran a fraud selling stocks short on international markets.

This type of trading looks for short term profits in assets that fall in value.

Good trading returns initially attracted investors but ultimately the gang disappeared with the money - 50 million baht in total.

Earlier Jittraphon had been arrested by the technology police and entered the court system to face the charges.

But he skipped bail and has since been on the run until his arrest yesterday.

He denies the charges.

He also faces similar charges in four other cases.

I am always amazed of how getting a fair sum of money makes people more stupid. Here we have a guy, that knows he has been caught. He run away again, and apparently have millions of baht. What is the reason to run from bail, if you have no backup plan to get out of the country? No, this guy, just do like many other donkeys. He stay in the country until he get caught again. After that, he tries to deny the charges. So, that begs the question: If not guilty, why run?
