FBU Manila seems competent enough to handle the plain vanilla retirement benefit application.  However, any time an application requires more complex processing they seem to veer into the ditch and seldom regain control and return to the correct path by themselves.

 

SSA overall has batted .000 on both my wife's and my original applications.  Now we both have to hope that our applications to switch benefits don't meet a similar fate.  FBU Manila should be up to our upcoming applications because they are both plain vanilla.

Just as information, I accessed the Manila FBU website and used the Inquiry Form to make an address change.  From the dropdown menu on top I selected change of address and once I entered my name and birthdate and last four digits of SS my old address information was already preloaded when the mouse hovered over it.  I entered my new address in the additional information box.  After completion and submitting a notice showed to allow 15 days for response.  And today, just two days later, I got an email that my records had been updated with the new address.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Quite easy to do.      
 

Yeah, not sure what the complaints are about, the Manila SSA office wasreally helpful getting my and my son's benefits. 

 

Actually easier to work with than my office in the US.

No longer available.  They are back to using email versus the pull down menu which basically created an email to them with the necessary info they needed like your name, address, birthdate, SSN, etc.

Great idea of SSA International to farm out the paper chase to new untrained SSA.GOV agents starting 2017 and many USA citizens have complained bitterly over extensive delays and or no reply failure of fiduciary duties intercepted delayed by the Manila FBU dedicated SSA.GOV applications....

It is a problem and difficult to digest the cost savings of the SSA.GOV International Operations  pay roll expense account confiscated from our USD tax flooding a metal desk in Manila  command and control of ASIA, from Australia to China...

The majority of USA citizens have bypassed Manila and use their friends and relatives and pre- paid mail forwarding services located inside USA  phone numbers...  There fore do not give a ??? about Manila FBU SSA.GOV inquisitive scattered delayed process of paper driven postal delivered fiduciary duties.

 

Any person inside the USA with a business card printed SSA.GOV name and number is not interrogated not inspected not questioned about SSA.GOV payments inside the USA but this is not true living inside a foreign government demanded banking, passport verification, every 90 days Why is there MANILA FBU SSA.GOV interception, inspections  to generate MANILA pay checks  for USA SSA.GOV customer service delays.. 

 

what is a fact that USA citizens are already under the command and control of foreign country governments Immigration because the USA passport is good only for a 90 day temporary visa...

 

BUT inside the USA just print your name and SSA.GOV number on a business card that has no bio metrics, no finger print, no photo identity, no integrated circuit chip, no laser holographic, no demanded inspections every 90 days and go empty or apply for a bank account inside the USA . 

 

The argument is it is 10 times more security scanning of a USA citizen by a foreign government and zero security scanning inside the USA so the news is never give your name and your SSA number to strange people only give it on job applications and medical services and et all...

 

But wait there is no medical services in a foreign country Medicare is void dead the money is silently pocketed at SSA.GOV International.

 

Ffurther more your bank account demands a valid passport inspection of your identity periodically under foreign government Immigration and financial banking networks describing your  deposits and withdrawals security monitored by your foreign phone...  

 

Where is the BEEF? Why pay Manila for services to deposit inside your bio metrics passport secured foreign bank account delivered by the USA Treasury

supervised under foreign Immigration and Financial networks and your foreign Immigration phone registered police monitored by the government... 

 

Another issue is the licking of stamp's and post mailing 71xx forms to Pennsylvania paid agents  metal desk collection to prove you are alive but rarely acknowledged delivery after ritual expenses.. What is real fact you are dead as your body parts are examined by the foreign government police who are trained and ordered to report USA Embassy from your USA passport you are dead...

It's not just Manila.  I first informed SSA of an error in June '20 and then reminded them by filing a 561 directly with Baltimore every two years.... thank god I didn't hold my breath....it's still messed up.

 

Not just mine... SSA is paying my wife two benefits at the same time.  That's definitely an error that is 100% on them.  I informed them of their error soon after it started.  We'll pay them back as soon as they are ready to calculate the total due because that is not the only issue with her benefits.

There is an excellent book called Get What's Yours: The Secret to Maxing Out Your Social Security  by Laurence Kotlikoff.  I bought an actual hardcover version but gave it away and downloaded an EPUB version.  Not knowing every nuance of SSA, I can't swear that he does cover it all but I would be willing to bet there's not much left out.  It's much better than watching the YTube guy mentioned earlier.  That YTuber is not proficient at presenting his content.
