Wildlife officials and veterinarians used a tranquiliser shot to sedate a sick wild elephant before they could treat the animal in a forest in the Tha Takiap district of Chachoengsao Province on Wednesday.

Two elephants were found wandering in Ang Toei forest on Tuesday, but one of them had a bad wound on the left front leg and appeared to be suffering from rectal prolapse.

After sedating the animal, the veterinarians quickly applied medication to the wound on the leg and then dealt with the prolapse with stitches.

Glad to see they are still helping the wild elephants that so many farmers are trying to kill.
