Former election commissioner Somchai Srisutthiyakorn and political activist Veera Somkwamkid have asked the Election Commission (EC) to investigate the United Thai Nation (Ruam Thai Sang Chart) Party over alleged violations of the election law.

In a letter, submitted to the EC today (Thursday), Veera and Somchai, currently strategy chief of the Thai Liberal Party, allege that the United Thai Nation Party breached the law on January 9th, when Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha formally applied for membership of the party at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

The alleged violations include the hiring of about 100 buses and passenger vans to transport people to the event, distribution to supporters of about 4,000 sets of party T-shirts, hats and flags worth over a million baht and the hiring of a band to entertain the attendees.

You knew pprp was not going to let him go quietly.  This could be the end even before the elections as he will not have a party so can not be PM

He doesn't need a party. He can be a complete outsider, like picking my daughter if they wanted to. The election law that the prior guise of the PRPP, the NCPOA coupe group wrote into the constitution to allow a non affiliated person, an outsider be elected, makes this possible.....

I hope so, they can't brush this one aside by saying they didn't know where/who the money came from.

Saw another OP where Triad boss Tuhao and the others arrested and charged will face the death penalty. Sure there will be dome big names being dropped to avoid that sentence....sure the PPRP is involved but they will spin it to Thaksin, this will get ugly if it does not just dissappear.  Buying a large bucket if popcorn and a case of sparkling water to watch the events....Chuwit is grinding them down. DSI chief now moved...corruption is so ingrained in this society and a Female senator is going after Prayut for his lack of cleaning it up. However, why do you think he is trying to hang onto the PM seat, the man's become a billionaire....

Wasn't Tuhao hitched to a female police officer who just happened to hold a very high rank?

I wonder how many strings she pulled to allow him to continue to operate his businesses?

That's very embarrassing for the farce.
