Cravings

Featured Replies

Today I had a craving for Ice cream. Now I never crave anything, so it was a strange feeling. Now remember a craving is not just fancying something, it's a powerful desire for something. So, do you ever crave?

ps I didn't satisfy the craving and eventually it just went away!

Ya, I get cravings. I always fill the need as I think my body is telling me I need something. Attention Jettie's craving department, we need vit B and protein in the organ aisles. I often crave stuff like spinach, a steak, a toasted tomato sandwich, radishes, pickles, olives, sushi... Then the foodies on food forum post pictures of their wonderful food and I get a craving for one of those dishes. Sometimes I get cravings for dark choc, but hey, that's Miggy's department. And espresso blend coffee in the morning. I just bought a big package of "two-bite" cinnamon rolls on a whim at the shop (six bites for me). Now in the freezer to go with morning java and a mandarin orange. Pretty boring really.

The Buddha taught that craving is more or less the typical condition for humans and that they crave 24/7 more or less.

All of the time.

Yesterday a friend kept raving about Mcdonald's Double Fish Filet Burgers and I couldn't get it out of my head until I had one. :o

In Thailand I crave a good breakfast of bacon, eggs, pancakes, orange juice, and toast. Not the garbage that gets served at dodgy farang restaurants either. (Not that they all fall into that category but there are far too many who do)

I actually prefer the traditional fake maple flavoured syrup over the real stuff they sell at the airports.

Suegha, you never crave anything? Does this imply you never get horny??? :o

You could be pregnant.

:o

I dont think you all really wanna hear about my cravings :o but to get an idea refer to this list make sure you start from page 1 though.....

do I have other cravings? sure..... most often would be for Pate.... and second on the list are fries...and every now and then for nice cheese with some good bread.... mmmmmm

I think Suegha and I would make the complete opposites...cos I have cravings ALL the time!! what do I crave right now?? fresh strawberries.....maybe with some cream.....

I agree with you 100% here :D

PMS is chocolate time. I figure it helps even out the swings and makes life easier for my husband so go for it :o

Bagels and cream cheese with lox are a regular craving. As is a nice filet mignon wrapped in bacon with some sauteed mushrooms.

Yikes! Now I am hungry!

I think that maybe we have different deffinitions here. Most of what's been listed are wants or needs, or things we just like!

So I could add: really good quality chocolate, fine wines, a good cigar etc. All wants or fancies. If hungry, I suppose you're sayisfying a need for food. I'm taking about a craving, I craved ice cream. I don't really like ice cream, it was first thing in the morning, well, I had just finished breakfast and was getting ready to go to Tai chi. No reason for ice cream - just a craving.

Any thoughts?

Ps Tippy, I hope this clarifys the position. Sex is both a want and a need and certainly not a craving... Please let this one go as I can see the thread going down hill fast!

A good Aussie meat pie, hot buttered toast with butter and Vegemite, pavlova and lamingtons.

and suegha...just to re-emphasise...I like chocolates...but I also crave for them.....on certain days.......

same with other things I listed.....only difference is I wouldnt crave for something I dont like.......

Im with you one that one. It's one of the few foods I actually crave. Had it so bad one time, I ate 3 for breakfast ( open faced, of course ) 2 for lunch , ate a normal dinner and woke up for another 2 for a midnight snack. :o Put a slice of tomato on top.

Art Cafe or Sojo's will solve this craving.

REAL buttermilk pancakes (with blueberries if you want), wholegrain or French Style french toast, REAL hash brown potatoes, Egg's Benedict, omelets, frosted cinnamon rolls, sourdough biscuits, English muffins.

BEST US/Canadian style breakfasts in the Kingdom! :o

oh great! now UG has made me crave for hashbrowns too!! ! grrrrr

On the day of the birth of Jude, I had an absolute craving for a burger, not just any burger, but a burger from Peppers Burgers in Jericho, Oxford.

For those of you who know Oxford, will know they produce the best 100% beef burger in the City, for those on the reconnoitre the other week we actually passed it!

However, I rarely eat burgers, but I just had this absolute craving this whole day.

At 21.30 I eventually leave the hospital and roll up there, lo and behold they are closed, they have been out of business for approx a week.

McDonalds instead, almost blasphemy.

Moss

Now im craving for a toasted cheese sandwich but I too lazy to fulfill it. In this case my laziness is stronger than my craving.

I am curently have two nicorette patches left and am surrounded by special smoking rooms that have the best T.Vs. Which I cannot enter as the fear of starting smoking again (CRAVVVVVVVVVINGGGSSSS) is upon me....

hey CC....good luck with quitting. its tough but u can do it :o

wish u lots of willpower

Please, UG, just don't mentioned corned beef hash. :o

At the moment, we don't have it (that I know of) in Chiang Mai. I have to wait until I go to Nana. I think the place is called Bully's Pub on Sukumvit near the JW Marriot Hotel. :o

Thanks, UG. Next - biscuits and gravy?? :o

Since we're on this delicious topic, does anyone have a fab recipe for Yorkshire pudding with sausages and onion gravy? My friend in the States loves Yorkshire pudding and makes it regularly. NR told me about the addition of sausage and onion gravy, which I relayed to my friend. He's now hel_l bent on making it but wants an authentic, homemade, proven-delicious recipe. Can we have a bit of competition here? 1st prize . . . :o

I crave for my bf's ..................... :o Not too fast guys. That isn't what I mean. I meant, my bf's you know, Map-Reading skills! He's so ###### good at reading maps. :-) I can't keep-up. Ah well.......... I'll tag along and follow him in the 'game mini-map' for awhile!

Art Cafe and Sojo's in Chiang Mai.

I think that Sojo's biscuits are better.
