Hmmm, were they on active duty at the time? I am reflecting on police serving as security guards on their own time ... certainly allowed in the USA. The rub only comes if they were on duty and/or using official police cars, etc.

From how my friend described, it they are fully dressed as Police officers, on Police bikes and with their lights on through traffic.

Why must a police officer not accept gifts?

Police must not accept gifts .It is a formula for dishonesty and corruption and bribes. Any public official who accept gifts and other benefits is deem to have accepted it to induce him for not doing his job,and to look the other way when crimes are committed by members of the public.

I don't think this Chinese woman arranged this after arriving in Bangkok. So there must be a website where it can be done - through some kind of facilitator. And they must have advertised in China. Otherwise how else would she have known about it?

I don't google nonsense I only pointed out it is illegal for police officers to accept gifts in my country 

So I am throwing out a wild guess the BIB concerned was/were moonlighting with the fake police bike/s.  Extra cash to make from self entitled wealthy Chinese who feel the need to bolster their self importance with this 'VIP treatment'. 

At least they were actually police and not impersonators.  

There is a YouTube video series I recall of a tosser in the USA who was actually only a security guard who modified a bike with lights and sirens for funeral escorts and thought he was HWP by stopping traffic, speeding and yelling at drivers to yield.  Hilarious.  

Always gone on in Thailand.  I know a Thai/Chinese business man who never goes out without police escorts/bodyguards. The 6000 sounds about right from what I was told. Some people on here need to get their filthy minds out of the gutter, either they are racist or full of self hate (isn'tit a fact that 90% of sex work is for Thai only (the top shelf)?). Not every one who goes to Thailand is there for sex (sex can be purchased any where in the world). This attitude about taking advantage of Thai's OMG I know quite a few men who have been fleeced for everything they have (not only a Thai occupation). Such judgmental people on here maybe the term "get a life" would be a good idea!!!
