Thai Rath reported on the shooting murder of a man in the bedroom of a shack atop Khao Meun Yort in Chalong sub-district of Nakhon Sri Thammarat, southern Thailand yesterday morning.

It took an hour's trek before Sichon police and rescue services reached the area.

Prasit, 42, a rubber platation worker, was dressed only in a pair of black shorts. He'd been hit by six bullets fired from a gun of unknown make.

He was hit three times in the abdomen, twice in the left side of the ribs and once in the right arm.

It appeared he had been shot while sleeping.

Pol Col Kittisak Ramsawat suggested the execution style killing was either over a woman or a personal conflict.

He has set up a special task force to investigate the murder.
