Siam Rath reported that Muang Trad police were called after a truck carrying latex and another carrying earth collided head on on the Nong Nam Wan to Khao Rakam Road in the eastern Thai province.

Much of a cargo of latex in 200 liter drums was all over the road. That truck was on its side.

Locals helped the driver of the earth truck get to hospital.

Rescue services needed to use cutting equipment to get to the driver of the latex truck. Another earth truck was used to separate the two, making their job easier.

Found dead was 33 year old Sum Janda, a Cambodian worker.

Meen, 28, the driver, had head, arm and leg injuries. Another unidentified Cambodian nearly lost his left foot.

Both the injured men were fully conscious and taken to hospital in Trat.

The wife of the dead man arrived on the scene. She was in tears as she saw her husband and needed to be led from the scene.

It is a road with many bends and there were marks on the road that indicated the latex carrying truck had lost control at the previous bend, hit a barrier and fallen onto its side before sliding and colliding head on with the approaching earth truck.

A local woman called Tan, 46, said that the accident site was known as "Bend of 100 corpses" due to many fatalities there.

It was poorly lit at night and while locals knew to take great care, people from outside the area unfamiliar with the road often had accidents resulting in deaths or serious injury.

Not safe in the daytime too, it's more to do with how you drive than the

state of the roads ,in day or night.  now name 101 corpse bend. RIP the guy

who died.

True that, the obvious,.    But Night is especially more dangerous than the day driving.

The bend looks absolutely vicious.

How on Earth did they design such a lethal curve like that.

The "Bend of 100 Corpses!"

I think I'd slow down.  But.  This Is Thailand.   Bpai Reow Reow Nii.  We need to go Fast Fast Fast to meet our death's on the Thai roads!!!

Congratulation!  Good job.
