Thai Rath reported on a horrendous incident that took place at a school in Suphanburi, central Thailand on Thursday.

A 45 year old man called Athip who lives in his grandfather's house 10 meters from Wat Lamphanbong school in Nong Ya Sai district climbed over a wall and attacked 9 year old P3 boy Thanabodin Rahothan who was playing on exercise equipment.

His pals saw the vicious assault in plain sight.

The boy needed brain surgery after suffering a fractured skull and severe cut. He is now out of danger and recovering in Chaopraya Yommaraj Hospital.

He has been ordered held in jail by the local court.

Nong Ya Sai police decided against a reenactment of guilt fearing retribution from parents.

School director Somyot Phukhang said that parents felt uneasy about letting their children go to school and it was closed yesterday.

He said that meetings would be held with parents, teachers and the education authorities over what happened.

He expressed his sincere apologies  and determination that such a thing would never happen again.

That would be the best punishment, retribution from the parents.

If this is a one-off incident caused by one glue-sniffing idiot, why close the school?

Maybe the Parents didn't trust the cops to keep him locked up, would you ? lets see if he is still in jail come Monday.
