Republicans have ousted Democrat Ilhan Omar from her committee post in a sign of escalating tensions in the US Congress.

They voted to remove Ms Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over her past comments about Israel.

Republicans said the move sent a strong statement against antisemitism.

Maybe a good time for her kick back a little, spend a little time in a U.S. state that has legal weed, maybe get some sun (Minnesota winter is no fun), etc.  Nothing is going to get done in the House with the present goon squad and their sock-puppet Speaker.  It's 21 months till the next election.

She made antisemitic remarks and is just plain old bad news, seems to hate Jews, made questionable comments about 911 and has no place in Congress or America for that matter. McCarthy got it right, delivered on his promise and did a solid to America.

"Only hours after Minnesota GOP operative Anton Lazarro posted online DNA evidence that allegedly shows Rep. Ilhan Omar was once married to her brother, the FBI busted him."

“The Campaign Finance Board discovered she filed tax returns stating she was married to one man when, in fact, she was married to another. The revelation was a part of an investigation into allegations that Omar had misused campaign funds.”

"In 2019, Ms. Omar drew criticism from Democrats and Republicans alike for tweeting that certain pro-Israel groups were “all about the Benjamins, baby,” appearing to refer to hundred-dollar bills in what was seen as invoking an antisemitic trope about Jews and money. She later apologized for the comment. Two years later, Ms. Omar seemingly equated “atrocities” carried out by the U.S. military to those committed by terrorist groups like the Taliban and Hamas; she later said she had not meant to compare them."

And what did they bust him for?

Co-defendant in GOP operative sex trafficking case pleads guilty

A woman accused of taking part in an underage sex trafficking conspiracy with a Minnesota GOP operative has pleaded guilty to two charges and is expected to testify in an upcoming trial.

Gisela Castro Medina, 20, pleaded guilty Monday, Dec. 19, to two federal charges at a change of plea hearing before Chief U.S. District Judge Patrick J. Schiltz in Minneapolis. Medina, the former University of St. Thomas College Republicans chair, admitted finding girls on social media and arranging meetings with Republican donor and commentator Anton “Tony” Lazzaro, as well as trying to pay the victims not to speak out.

Just as the FBI is closing in on this person, he releases alleged evidence that the Omar was married to her brother.

Whatever, shes of questionable background and seemingly not a team player, the good news and prudent outcome is she is gone, tossed from the committee.

Good on McCarthy, he did the right thing. Who would not agree with this.

Who shouldn't agree with this is the same people who support the McCarthy's embrace of Marjorie Taylor Green. And, of course, McCarthy himself.

Greene has promoted antisemitic, white supremacist, and far-right conspiracy theories, including the white genocide conspiracy theory,[7][8] QAnon, and Pizzagate.[9][10] Other extremist conspiracy theories[11][12] she has promoted include government involvement in mass shootings in the United States, murders perpetrated by the Clinton family (Clinton Body Count), and 9/11 conspiracy theories.[13][14] Before running for Congress, she supported calls to execute prominent Democratic Party politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.[15]

Compared to Green, Omar's beliefs are angelic.

A good move by the house.

There is no place for anti-semitism in 2023.

Maybe the US can gain control of those Rothschild-owned  space lasers Marjorie Taylor Green warned us against and use them to eliminate all such anti-semites.

A fascinating conspiracy theory ????.

This thread is about Ilhan Omar and her antisemitic comments though, so please stay on topic and avoid trying to deflect with whataboutism, good lad.

No, this thread isn't about "Ilhan Omar and her anti-semitic comments." If it were, the subject line of the thread would be something like "The Anti-Semitism of Ilhan Omar."

But you clearly haven't noticed that the subject actually is  "House passes resolution to remove Ilhan Omar from Foreign Affairs Committee" Do you understand what "House" means in this context? Just to make sure you're not confusing "House" with someone's domestic residence, it's referring to member of the House of Representatives, one of 2 legislative bodies composing the legislative branch of the US. Government. So pointing out the double standards on the part of the majority who voted in favor if the resolution is absolutely relevant.
