416 Short Gun Mic with Rycote Kit inc coil extendable cable

that's a senheiser yes?

how much?

i would like a mic that would pick up voice fairly well in a very noisy pub type environment,

say the mic is 2 metres from subject and directed at them.

would this be better than a Rode shotgun in rejecting peripheral sound.

Micron UHF radio Mic Kit including Sony E77B

also how much?

thanks

Mark, the Sennheiser MKH416 has and still is the standard mic for voice recording in both film and television. The coil extendable cable is ideal when using the mic direct (without a mixer) with the camera for interviews. The mic is held low at waist level by the reporter.

It has very good feedback rejection, low proximity effect, 128 dB/SPL. Rugged and resistant to changing climate conditions. Ideal for boom, fishpole, and camera mountings normally used as a long-distance microphone for video, film, and studio recording but I am uncertain I would use it in a noisy pup enviroment

The microphone is basically excellent for interviewing by reporters and voive recording in drama

Specifications:

Frequency Response 40 Hz-20 kHz

Minimum Load Impedance 400 Ohms

Signal-to-Noise Ratio 77 dBA

Maximum SPL 128 dB

Maximum Output Voltage 1.25 V

Phantom Power Supply 48 V

Dimensions .75 inch (19 mm) X 10" (250 mm)

The cost new with the Rycote kit was about $1400.00 US I would expect an offer of $750 US

The microns is a diverity UHF kit used mostly for film and TV. New price 1400 UK Pounds would accept $800.00 US http://www.soundkit.co.uk/acatalog/Explorer_Series.html
