Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has threatened legal action against at least one of the women making rape and human trafficking claims against him.

Lawyers for the woman in the US say a "cease-and-desist" letter was sent by a US law firm in December, on behalf of Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan.

The letter threatened to sue the woman and her parents for $300m (£249m) if she did not retract her statements.

Obstruction of Justice and intimidation of a witnesses.

All wrapped up in a legally attested letter that can’t be denied.

Well done dummy.

Well, who wouldn't threaten to sue? He's got money and facing life in jail. He's got nothing better to spend his money on at this point.

Thugs do as thugs think…his whole life message is based around violence and intimidation.

No surprise he has done this.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

This is a major problem in the US, anyone with money can avoid justice this way. This should not be possible, only after his trial has concluded or authorities have decided there is no merit to the accusation should the accused be allowed to counter sue.

If the woman's case is true and she can prove it, why would they take any notice?

IMO too many men have had their lives destroyed by vindictive women that have used the courts for revenge, and I'm happy to have some fight back.

NB, I know nothing about the truth in this case, so not saying if he is or is not guilty.

Because merely defending yourself against civil suit can and often does bankrupt people.

You need to beef up your NB, it isn’t convincing anyone.
