Two presidents, two speeches, two different world views

As the anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine approaches, US President Joe Biden and Russia President Putin have given speeches addressing the war.

The BBC's Richard Galpin looks at both speeches to see if there are any contradictions in what they said, and what could happen going forward.

This sounds familiar ... "we'll be with you as long as it takes" ????

https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-64710795

USA didn't stick around long enough for:

Vietnam

Korea

Syria

Iraq

Afghanistan

Libya

Egypt

... the list is endless

US presidents and politicians can't even keep promises they make to Americans ????

I'm sure he muttered a caveat after "till we don't want to anymore".

Your list is excellent, but I'm sure you missed a few.

Sadly it is endless.   Just hit the headliners, most should be familiar with.

Was going to list Cuba, but the US cut & ran at first sign of trouble ????

All the failed regime changes in S. America & Africa.  It's mind boggling.

Putin seems subdued all he had was rattling the nuclear saber and dropping out of the last existing nuclear arms agreement.President Biden’s was full of unity passion for democracy and the right of sovereignty support for Ukraine and Europe in front of 30,000 people Putin’s was in front of may be 150 or so people at a distance they all looked cowed and subdued im sure putin then returned to his bunker isolated with his thoughts of how big of a blunder he made thinking his minion had broken nato
