Barclays do seem to be clamping down on non-resident accounts ???? 

I accessed my Barclays account this week I'm registered as being in Thailand I receive mail and also they have my Thai phone number ..never any problem with them ..as far as not being in UK

Sadly, I'll have to add "yet" ???? 

 

Do be prepared with alternative banking arrangements.

It would certainly be worth checking if it works in the UK before going to the branch.

You could of course get it paid to your Thai account ... But then ...

 

I'd try to sort another UK account and see what occurs.

I have one pension paid directly to my wise account..but didn't want to keep all my eggs in one basket eh....has anyone else on here had a problem with Barclays ..

I always hold the cash till the rate is favourable..then transfer it

Same for me. My Ulster Bank (RBS/Nat West) account is in total limp mode now. Banner across the top of my log in page to visit my nearest branch and update my address and phone number. All DD's and SO's are still working but cant set up any new ones. Can see only my account balance on the app or webpage. Writing on the wall i fear. If i call them they will reluctantly help make a one off payment over the phone but insist i visit a branch with proof of address next time.

Is there an app update that you've not installed?

I use a pin sentry machine had it 6 years now..bit of effort at first but security good as you must physically put the card into the machine not just a code ..
