Pattaya Police Launch Serious Crackdown on Street Beggars, 14 Arrested Including 9 Kids

Pattaya Police launched an intense crackdown on street beggars last night following numerous complaints from tourists and residents. 14 migrants, 9 of whom were 2-6 year old children, were arrested.

 

The operation, which was launched around 8:30 PM yesterday, February 27th, was led by the deputy commander of Chonburi Provincial Police Pol. Col. Patikorn Sornchai. A large troop of police officers and officials from the Social Development and Human Security Office scattered around the city to look for street beggars.

 

Col. Patikorn disclosed to The Pattaya News that he had received several complaints regarding a group of migrant people soliciting for money and illegally selling flowers, boiled beans, and candies on the street. These beggars had greatly tarnished the dignified reputation of Pattaya City, the deputy commander commented.

We had this topic so often and nothing changed. Also a couple of days ago I read that vehicles are not allowed to park in front of Tree Town. This was in the news several times before already. Yesterday evening it was full as always. But at least all the "entertainers" disappeared from the Beach Road. Don't worry. Just kidding.

More than zero which is the number usually at work on the streets.....Things seem wrong when a mugger has a rap sheet of 20+ crimes and the focus is on street beggars.

well they tried so hard to discover the alleged sex workers, but they have failed so far. so the next best thing to improve the image of the RTP:
