Tourist police continue their post pandemic charm offensive at the Floating Market

A group of ten tourist police led by a senior commander were making sure that operators at the Damnoen Saduak floating market in Ratchaburi, central Thailand, were following all the rules.

They said they were concerned for the safety of residents and foreign tourists now they are back in larger numbers after the pandemic.

They also might have been on the lookout for price gouging.

Earlier in the year ASEAN NOW reported on rip-offs at the port when a Thai tourist from abroad complained.

In the last few months the tourist police have been mounting a charm offensive invariably reported by Siam Rath who act as though they are the PR arm of the force.

There have also been many stories in the press about the tourist police returning lost bags to tourists.
