A drill was conducted by the Surin traffic police in north eastern Thailand yesterday in conjunction with fire and rescue services.

The scenario was that a bus carrying students had gone into a truck carrying cooking gas that had exploded.

There were plenty of willing student volunteers to make it extra realistic; they were lying on a sheet prepared by the side of the road.

Everyone agreed it was better to be ready, reported Siam Rath.
