VocalNeal
Bobsleigh is a team sport. What about the rest of the team. No mention???? There is a separate class for women called Monobob which maybe what she was training for. But as usual with poor local reporting that was not mentioned. If that was indeed what she was doing. Popular Post ikke1959
Why mention it when did so well?? If it is really news the story would have been told before, that a Thai teen is training for bobsleigh competitions and that is rare as Thailand is not a wintersport country.... But you don't read anything unless the athletes have success.. Probably she doesn't live in Thailand 1

Or should it be about notable success stories? What a weird comment, especially your last one about her not living in Thailand.

Have you ever seen any wintersport on Thai TV???? how come she is interested at such a young age?? I was teaching in school and I showed the Wintergames in the classroom and the kids were very quiet and were very interested.. But Thai TV doesn't show ever any wintersport..Normally as it is never cold .... so probably she doesn't live here....Think a bit please, as they also don't write where she is living in Thailand....Lifting on success of others without any involvement by THialand.. same as LIsa..she has success but Thailand did not do anything to achieve this

It's just a news report about a young Thai doing well at an unusual sport, that's it. "Thailand" is not claiming to have helped her do this. With any report of a successful Thai (especially female) there is always at least one bitter poster who will look for reasons why it shouldn't be celebrated, usually by questioning their Thainess. You are the guy in this thread, congratulations.

You are the guy in this thread, congratulations. It is indeed a feel good story to show how good Thai people are... I am happy that she is successful don't worry... But it is outside the country and inside the country there are people fighting with their lives for real democracy and that you don't read anywhere here.. That is annoying and more important than a successful sportsman/woman I think
NativeBob
and Vanessa Mae (short-time thai) represented Thailand in Sochi Olympics. She finished when lights went off, cheering crowd went home and hotdog vendors closed shops. Yet she was happy and many thais were proud, not embarrassed.
crouchpeter
We're in the French Alps at the moment. I tell people that my wife is Thailand's top woman snowboarder. Then I explain that she's Thailand's ONLY woman snowboarder!
