South Korea Denies Blacklisting Thais From 4 Northeastern Provinces

THE SOUTH Korean embassy today (Mar. 16) clarified that news spreading in Thailand saying people from four northeastern provinces had been blacklisted is fake news, TV Channel 7 said.

 

According to the false report South Korea had blacklisted people from Khon Kaen, Sisaket, Udon Thani and Yasothon provinces after marking them as red areas.

 

A notice posted on the South Korean embassy website says the following:

“Please be careful about fake news. Recently news has been spread through some media channels about the blacklisting of Thai nationals residing in certain regions by the Korean government.

Maybe Thailand better prepare for South Koreans to come to Thailand.

Especially office workers have to start working in a 69 hour/week shift, new government proposal. Red this morning in MSN news. Meaning working from 9am till 00:00.

AND no extra paying! Now they already work 52 hour/week.

It is all about shortage of people for work, so a bunch of Thai workers would be appreciated, I guess. If in offices it is needed, so with other work would be the same.

Even in "my"country we have a shortage of serving people in restaurants, bars, dishwashers and many more.

 

Well Thailand also has absurd working hours, especially officers, meaning people working in offices of government. Also to mention they MUST attend weirdest events in private times.

Like remembering a king from the past. They MUST wear on occasions, a white, green, yellow or whatever color clothes, to be bought by them selves.

Perhaps it is a fake news indeed, but it would made sense. In fact, few more Isan provinces should be added to the list.

Does not make sense at all and why would more Isaan provinces need to be added to the list?

 

Just because they are from a certain region in Thailand?

 

Do you honestly condone that possibly being a non immigrant in Thailand yourself.

 

It may/may not be fake news but when coming to the dealings of govt behind closed doors and all their tricks, always citing national security as a way to keep their misdeeds hidden from the public, I would not be surprised to question where there is smoke there is fire.

Thais working illegally in South Korea are being offered one last chance to return home without having to pay a huge fine, the government announced on Friday. Deputy government spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek said more than 100,000 Thai illegal workers, referred to as “Phi Noi” (little ghosts), are working in South Korea and Seoul has set February 28 as the deadline for them to return home.

 

She said if the workers return within February, they will not have to pay the 30 million won (about 800,000 baht) penalty.
