DeSantis cleans up earlier Ukraine comments, calls Putin a ‘war criminal’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sought to clean up his previous comments calling Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a “territorial dispute,” telling British journalist Piers Morgan instead that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “war criminal.”

 

DeSantis faced mounting criticism from Republicans over his earlier comments on Ukraine, including from Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia and John Cornyn of Texas, who all publicly broke with DeSantis after the governor rejected additional funding for Ukraine.

 

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who is considering a 2024 bid, called DeSantis “naïve” over his Ukraine stance.

DeSantis, Morgan and Putin.  Each as insufferable as the next.  Waiting now for T____ to attack Ron for attacking Vlad, and then see if The Patriots hate on DeS for slamming Putin.  Does MAGA excommunicate for not supporting Russia? 

I've been saying all along DeS ain't got what it takes.  My guess is there will be at least 10 GOP contenders for 2024.  Lunatic Kari Lake will be DT's VP candidate, the MAGA Wallis Simpson.

DeSantis is a man of no convictions.  His idea of leadership is to check which way the crowd is heading then run in front and yell "Follow me!"  To be fair, that describes a lot of politicians.

Oddly enough, reminds me of Al Franken the comedian who become a Democratic Senator. Charismatic, affable and very smart, he did seem presidential material. And then as soon as a bunch of envious Dems piled on him for a very dubious harassment charge, he caved like a stale biscuit, resigned and disappeared into the ether.

 

You want to be President? Stand up for yourself and don't say today you believe something different from what you believed yesterday. Balls. You gotta have balls.

 

Whatever you think of Trump at least the man was/is WYSIWYG. He'll still be tomorrow exactly the sob you hate today. No simpering. No shape shifting.
