Business leaders praise election clarity but survey shows anxiety about threat of political instability

Prime Minister Prayut Chan ocha dissolved the House of Representatives on Monday while on Tuesday, the Election Commission set May 14th as the date for the 2023 General Election. There is growing speculation that as well as putting General Prayut forward as one of the party’s nominees for prime minister before April 7th at Bangkok City Hall, the United Thai Nation (Ruam Thai Sang Chart) party may also place him on the rolls of potential party list MPs at the same time. It comes as unease in the business community exists over the threat of political instability if there is not a smooth and peaceful transfer of power after the poll without controversy in June or July.

Thai Rath reported from Krung Petch Villa, Soi 4, where a man called Anuwat Waenthong, 30, shot three and injured 3 in a 15 hour standoff between Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday morning.

America’s Globalstar will provide satellite services in Thailand

Low earth orbit satellite operator Globalstar of the U.S. has won approval from Thailand’s regulators to provide satellite services in the Kingdom in partnership with local satellite firm Thaicom, the company announced last week.

Adang Island in Satun Is Set to Be Developed as World-Class Tourism Destination

AOT to Expand Don Mueang Airport Terminal for Tourism Boost

Seven suspects arrested in Sakhon Nakhon over Ponzi scheme

Police from Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) have arrested seven people and have seized a large quantity of assets from two companies, which allegedly operated a Ponzi scheme luring people to invest in mushroom, bee and kratom (an addictive plant) farming, with promises of unrealistically high returns.

Third Drug Suspect In City Centre Shootout Nabbed

POLICE chased and arrested the third drug suspect who together with his two accomplices had opened fired on police at Sukhumvit soi 50 last Tuesday night (Mar. 21), TV Channel 7 said this morning (Mar. 24).

Fake products worth ฿10m seized from Bangkok warehouse

Police from the Consumer Protection Police Division and officials from the Thai Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) seized fake food supplements, cosmetics and medicines worth more than 10-million baht in a raid on a warehouse in Bangkok’s Pathumwan district today (Friday).
