Get a Kor Ror 22

Featured Replies

Tried to change from a retirement visa to marriage visa and need Kor ror 22 as our marriage certificate is from Australia,it’s been translated and stamped, but it’s over 5 years old now and the amphur won’t give us the the KR22 .

so now I have to get it done again but the agent guy says it will cost 12k baht and take weeks ,is there a faster way ?
They gave me a 2 month extension on my visa and we will fly out for a holiday on 10th of May and will involve me overstaying about a week.
so do I have to book in with the Aus embassy first and book a time at the thai consulate for these ? I think years ago we just turned up and got it done .

if I put the money 800k back in the bank and wait three months can I get back on retirement visa?
seems easier than married visa .

Been married 15 years now ,u would think by walking into ampur or immigration with your wife and marriage cert would be enough to prove you’re still married wouldn’t it ?

OP,

Did you ever officially register your foriegn marriage with your amphur office?

This would have been done after you got the marriage certificate translated and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs "and then" you registering those docs with the amphur office which loads it into the Thailand marriage database..  Then you could have gotten a new KR22 at any time.

Not if not registered in the Thailand marriage database.

Australian marriage Cert. not Thai so no. kor ror 2 is required every year. He left it 5yrs. I would try the OZ embassy first, email them. or try phoning. They deal with this regularly.

Why would you book a holiday knowing you'd be on overstay, can go to Laos get 3mths visa, if no luck with OZ embassy.

Well booked holiday before we knew about the visa probs ,had been on retirement visa for last two years and was planning on swapping to married visa, but didn’t know that the cert expired after time .

if we had of been told to register marriage at amphur years ago we would have ,we got the yellow book and pink id card at that time,so if we knew then we would have done it but no one told us and at that time .

I’ll sort it by just going back to retirement visa ,pay a couple days overstay ,come back on tourist entry and get retirement again.

Thanks all for the help

Sorry another question,if I were to go across to Laos before my two month extension runs out ,I mean drive over there and return, how many days visa would I get ? Is 15 days ? That would solve my overstay issue, and before anyone asks why would I do it,we are not far from border.

If you go before the end of this month, you will get 45 days....
