Liver transplant

The doctor recently diagnosed me with a fatty liver

I'm doing my best in the last 2 week of diagnosis to lose weight and stay off sugar & oils

So far in 2 weeks lost 6kg height 177cm and 108kg

I have bigger body structure so what would my best weight be ?

According to google it's 78kg that would be very small

However I'm still experiencing some dull pain in the liver so I have been googling at it says I may have about 3-5 years left with liver function but because of the pain must be inflamed so doubt I have that long

My question is has anyone here undergone a liver transplant?

I know I have to pay so is it possible in Asia?

I'm thinking about trying to change it soon ,any idea where to go ?

Try China. Everthing for a price. Rumour is that forced organ harvesting goes on there. Terminal for the donor though. Think maybe you should try your home country first. Not quite same and successful as a kidney transplant. From your post, it doesn't sound as if you need such a drastic procedure (yet).

Well yes, necessarily, unless you know something about the ops story that hasn't been shared here.

The OP could have Hepatitis C or some other disease that is destroying his liver, but yeah, just diet and exercise and come back when you have cirrhosis.

Why hasn't the doctor tested me for this ? Or have they?

I will make an appointment online to see her tommrrw (Tuesday) immediately!!

All they have done is blood tests and ultrasound

I have seen this lady GP more than 7 times in the last 2 weeks and all she wants to do is....wait until I lose weight

Always seems too interested in putting me on weight scales and referring me to a  dietetician rather than send me to a liver  specialist !!

The pain is a dull pain which is not stopping me from going to the gym but nevertheless it's not a good sign

I never thought of this hep C ,I will tell her tomorrow to test me for this !!!

Thankyou

Hep c is diagnosed by a blood test, as is hep A and B. Fatty liver is very common and easily treatable. NAFL can be caused by certain types of food rather than by alcohol, aspartame is another cause because the liver can't process it.

Hep c is diagnosed by a specific blood test and will not show up on a typical liver function test.

Fatty liver is pretty common and is easily treatable is you do not have hep c.

Why dont you just follow the doctors direction and lose weight, fix your diet and stop all the extra vitamins like the doctor told you. 2 weeks is hardly any time to see a change, it could take several weeks to a couple months. If it was a more serious issue the evidence would be apparent and the doctors you've seen would be testing for it.  Man up dude.

I know but I feel like the GP is not doing enough

She is not young so should be experienced at this

I'm thinking of seeing another GP but I'm not sure what tests to ask them for ?

Someone suggested a Fibroscan , I asked her (GP) about this but she suggested wait 1 month to lose weight

Another a PET scan.

In the meantime I need to plan ahead , I'm google India cost is 50k for a liver transplant

I got that from my GPs as well. Excess weight (fat) causes all sorts of problems that will go away if you follow the advice.

Easier said than done of course, I'm struggling with weight issues at the moment; I'm 106 kegs when I should be about 75 and I have a dull ache in my liver area, so I feel your pain.

I've just cut out the booze and am trying to eat more healthy options (bye bye KFC). I'm not expecting results for at least a month, these things take time.

Thankyou for the link going to try to see this guy on my next visit in May /June ,or someone there in Thailand

I will ask them the cost of another liver

I assume your post is a windup, but you will not get on a transplant list in Thailand.
