Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
Things are getting more f+ck%d up as time goes on. I don't know where it all went wrong but I have a bad feeling about where this is all heading. To the extent that , if l were to consider life to be a book, I am happier that I am halfway through the last chapter. as opposed to just starting the forst -

Four Charges Filed Against Driver in Bus Fire That Killed 23
What about the teachers surely they should have evacuated the kids or did they try ? Seems the fire took control very quickly so maybe it was impossible to save anyone. Was there a crush for the door ? horrible way to die. RIP to those who died. -

Four Charges Filed Against Driver in Bus Fire That Killed 23
I guess there is just a chance he is telling the truth........it is hard to see how this will progress through the courts if he continues to claim a tyre burst, for whatever reason, and no one can prove otherwise. If he was negligent, drunk, on his phone, falling asleep, I hope he rots in hell.- 1

Two Friends in Drunken Dispute: One Knocked Unconscious After Argument Turns Violent
I love how people here like to bash certain nationalities. Drunken stupidity happens everywhere in the world. In Thailand they will sell you booze until you drop unlike other countries where the bar would be sued if this happened. Drinking with people who you would have nothing in common with other than you're on holidays or living in Thailand can be a disaster waiting to happen. -

Meloni's Crackdown on Protests Sparks Fears of Growing Repression in Italy
The only reason it targets climate protests is that they are the ones committing crimes instead of just peacefully protesting about their nonsense. If they could just hold up their "end of the world is nigh" signs peacefully without obstructing other people as they go about their business they will be just fine. -

Non-O retirement visa single re-entry vs multiple re-entry?
Okay just so you know "retirement visas" (really 90 day Non-O visa plus a year extension of stay) gotten inside thailand are sold with NO re-entry because you're already here. You would need to buy either a single or a multiple re-entry permit AFTER you get the year extension inked in but before you travel out of the country to keep your current stamp "alive" (so you'd get stamped in for that same expiration date when you come back) ๐ . You can indeed, a single re-entry permit (at the airport is 1200baht, no photo, no form, no passport picture required) BUT I would say IF you travel regularly just have the agent get you the multiple re-entry permit at the same time they do your "retirement visa" ๐ that will let you travel out/in to thailand as much as you want for the whole 15 months the visa/extension is good for. The way 90 day reporting works is If you're IN the country for 90 continuous days you file a 90 day report. If you leave before the 90th day, you don't report and when you come back to thailand your next 90 day report would be due 90 days from the date you stamped in to the country As long as you're leaving before a 90 day report would be due you are not obligated to report, I know people on retirement extensions who travel a lot and they've never had to file a 90 day report because they're never here for 90 days at one time -
