GOP embraces a new foreign policy: Bomb Mexico to stop fentanyl

A growing number of prominent Republicans are rallying around the idea that to solve the fentanyl crisis, America must bomb it away.

 

In recent weeks, Donald Trump has discussed sending “special forces” and using “cyber warfare” to target cartel leaders if he’s reelected president and, per Rolling Stone, asked for “battle plans” to strike Mexico.

 

Reps. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) and Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) introduced a bill seeking authorization for the use of military force to “put us at war with the cartels.”

Other possible solutions? Perhaps interdict the Mexican coastline to stop the precursor chemicals coming from China?

Are you suggesting the US blockade the thousands of miles of Mexico's coast?  Or that we stop and search every ship that passed through a Chinese port before it reaches Mexico?

Bombing the fentanyl factories and 'auditing' the cartel members would be a lot easier I think.  Any other solutions?

Good idea.  I assume you have the location of all these fentanyl factories and the names and assets of all the cartel members.  Why don't you sent this information to the government?

I wonder what the 2 Republicans would say if Mexico decided to bomb Texas and Florida to stop the Americans from using drugs with added fentanyl?

 

After all it is a case of demand and supply with US drug addicts creating the demand and the Mexican cartels taking care of the supply.

 

If the demand is stopped then the supply will also stop.
