Bank statement amount for SETV e-visa

Featured Replies

Hi I'm planning to apply for E-visa (SETV) in the summer when I'll be back in Europe getting my new passport... For the required 'financial proof' I'll use bank statement from my home country, I almost never use that account and it's always empty, so I plan to put some money in it now and keep it for 2-3 months until I apply. Does anybody knows what is the actual amount (and deposited time) they need for SETV E-visa? Some websites say $700, others $1000-5000, and one guy even show $0 bank statement and got the visa lol... Thanks!

The exact amount in your local currency is set by your embassy or consulate. It's meant to be the equivalent of 20,000 baht, but some embassies round that up more than others. Best to check with them.

The Thai embassy in Switzerland had that information on their website when I applied for a visa November. See what the website of the Thai embassy in your country has.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

I applied to the London Embassy for a SETV 2 weeks ago using a recent bank statement showing a £3,000 balance. Visa was issued within 48 hours. As mentioned by Caldera, I believe the minimum balance should be currency equivalent of 20,000 THB.
