nigelforbes
IBAN's are for use in Europe, so you want a European bank account, right? I don't know anywhere that lets you open a bank account solely online, perhaps if you were to try a European forum that might help!
MJCM
Maybe this helps (not a Thai Bank as Thai banks don’t use IBAN https://n26.com/en-eu/blog/how-to-open-a-bank-account-in-europe edit: you could also look at Wise, they will give you a Bank account with IBAN https://wise.com/help/articles/2817401/tips-for-getting-started-with-wise?origin=topic-OQDKGx7MTsaujfEjiZmIS Edited April 18, 2023 by MJCM
RayWright
I use KBank, so transfer (UK or Aus) using their HeadOffice Swift code. Quoting my account number, funds clear in my account within 5 or 6 working days.

Only needed my Belgian passport to do so. Don't recall whether they wanted me to provide my address when doing the application on-line, but if so I would have given my official home address in Belgium (while I only visit my home-country for annual holidays, and am in Thailand rest of the time). mark5335
If you apply for a Wise account (from Thailand), you can be issued separate IBAN codes for both EUR and GBP.

blackcab
No. You will have to physically visit a bank branch with your original passport if you want to open a bank account.
