A decade in Thailand and he relies on paying a forum to promote his articles.

He paid Asean Now to show his report?  What makes you say that?

I stopped at tip 1. Walking is a great way to experience Bangkok, the same as it is when you're any place in the world.

Nothing here that you can't find in a decent guide book, no doubt a self publicist trying to pop his head over the parapet.

My Morton's Neuroma disagrees with you.

Thank God, you didn't, the OP is about Thailand, not Spain, Mexico, Russia or China.

I was making the comparison , as we all should when discussing any subjective assessment made by someone else.  I should have added Liverpool of course, silly me.

"...silly me"

"Silly you", indeed, the OP was not making a comparison so there was no necessity for him to do so, nor for anyone else to attempt to derail his OP on to other countries' cultures.

By the way, Liverpool is not a country.

I didn't even bother reading when I saw this:

Ray-Jones said tourists should explore more than just Bangkok's nightlife and red-light district.

He thinks prostitution is an average tourist thing?  I mean, I know lots of people come to Thailand for prostitution, but suggesting that regular tourists - couples, families, etc. -  come to Thailand and just see bars and prostitutes is kind of weird.  It either shows that he has a fondness for the red-light district himself, or he is completely out of touch with what regular tourists come to Thailand for.

Head touches aren't welcome anywhere from a stranger. Taking shoes off is European as well.

Thais are 90% the same as Europeans.

Europe is big. No all same but different.

Don't touch a Thai person on the head.

Are there any countries in the world where it is socially acceptable to touch someone on the head that you do not know well?

What is a 'content strategist"?

A gobby <deleted> who likes stating the obvious?

Bangkok is a great city for walking. Who cares if some Thais don't like walking. Maybe that's why their lifespan is short.

More dangerous in a pub in UK than Thai people.

I read the article to the end.

Nothing to see here. Just some bloke stating the bleeding obvious.

And the same that is written on the first pages of every tourist guide since 1970

Next tip - "How to suck eggs!"

You are, of course, not typical of the population.

If I had a nickel for every article like this...

So much is left out too.

Don't touch a Thai person on the head.

Don't wai to others unless you know how and why you are doing it.

Take shoes off whenever visiting a Thai household.

etc etc.. list goes on.

One more: don’t touch a Thai person on the head of his penis
