why is DPC not being used in Thailand?

I have visited quite a few building sites and nowhere DPC was being used in the walls. Everywhere damp-proof membrane was laid under the slab where it touches the soil (not on top of the ground floor beams) but haven't seen DPC being used in the outer walls.

Is this common practice in Thailand? Is it because of the concrete beam/post construction technique? I assume because of the concrete posts, seamless DPC all around the building is not possible? Is the risk of uprising damp less than in Europe (due to the hot climate)?

Anybody on here who did manage to use DPC on their build?

Thank you!
