An honest Thai couple discovered a bag with 100,000 baht inside in front of a shopping mall in the central province of Ratchaburi and notified the police so they can search for its owner.

Eighteen year old Kittisak “Zen” Thaweechokhirun, and his 18 year old girlfriend, Potchathawat “Mali” Sabumuang, last night reported the cash-filled bag they found at a shopping mall to officers at Meaung Ratchaburi Police Station.

Mali told police that they arrived at the shopping mall at 2.30pm to watch a movie. After the movie date, they went to the shopping mall’s food court and spotted the bag on a chair.

Mali notified a shopping mall staff member who opened the bag and discovered the large sum of money inside. The mall made an announcement asking for the owner of the bag to come forward, but nobody claimed it.

The couple waited at the shopping mall until 5.30pm in the hope that the owner would come back for the bag, but nobody did. So, they reported it to the police. Officers then rushed to the mall to pick up the bag.

...rarely a day goes by without reading this kind of story. this time, it's not a cab driver but a couple. let's face it, thais are certainly the most honest people in the world where people lose in the street or forget in cabs huge amounts of money....i mean, i can't imagine forgetting a bag with 100.000 baht inside in front of a shopping mall...

Well at least we know the money is safe in the hands of the police. 555

No doubt they will expedite a search party to trace its rightful owner.

In front of the shopping mall, or in the food court ?

Make your minds up.

Well they did "rush" to the mall to secure it!

I have never seen them "rush" for anything, but B100,000 in cash is, I suppose, an incentive to break out into a bit of a sweat!

Think handing it over to the police was the dumb part of this story ????

555..try this scenario...the senior cop will get the bag.He asks ,does anyone know who owns this bag? Answer..no.Ok then I'll take care of this. Its laughable to think for 1 minute the cops will be activly seeking out the owner.

Years ago on Samui a acquaintance had just returned from Dubai with 20k usd cash.Proceeds from a 2 month stint offshore.Locked it in his room and "surprise" it was broken into and money gone.He had a big mouth and frequently mentioned in the bar that he made good money. He went to the cops who asked him for money to look for his money.crickets
