Not that I actually care or can do anything about their internal issues, but by buying 'made in CH', I'm supporting the state, which 'does' trickle down to people, and helps them greatly.  Being an excellent value for THB is simply a plus for me.

 

Along with the countries CH supports around the world.

Shopping in or from any country, and they all make krap, along with excellent products.   Simple ... choose wisely ... worldwide.

 

OFF topic ... left the USA, so not to support their world terrorism, regime change policies, through tax payments, I'm surely not going to buy any of their overpriced 'made in USA' products if I can avoid it.

 

UP2U ... but I'll buy the best product for the best price offered, and right now, that TH & CH.   The wallet and excess pocket money toward "my' family & smile take top priority.

Simply pointing out 'estimates', and wide margin at that.  So which extreme to believe ? If you look at the 'sources', following that quoted text, half taken from someone 'selling' a book.  That's not suspect at all ????

 

Now if I saw a live feed, from beginning to end, I might, might, believe that.  With the CGI tech, even that becomes a bit suspect.

 

I believe info from self, or personally known, respected people.  Yep, so it's limited.  So I rely on my experiences, which differ greatly from others, especially those stating "I'd never own anything from CH, it's all crap".   So they are totally ignorant, with no experience, along with, owning a lot from CH, and simply ignorant to that fact.

Answer: I wasn't there, so I don't know.  Did something happen, possibly, but to what extent, if at all, still don't know.

 

As I pointed out above, if not deleted, many things reported that probably didn't happen, but are still believed to have happened.

 

TS ... don't know, and sadly, don't care.   If that happened (1000s killed), and didn't cause a revolution, that says a lot also.

To be fair, if I were in the market for an ICE vehicle, I would not really be looking at Chinese made cars. I would be more prudent and sensible and go for a Korean/Japanese made ICE. European cars are also generally good but the taxes and duties make them poor value for money. The legacy manufacturers in these countries have long and proven track records.

 

The Chinese government has cleverly (no reference to that British politician) identified that China would not be able to compete in that market and set out instead to capture a whole new market - that of EVs. And they have taken it by storm. This is completely undeniable, except to the fervent China haters. Fortunately, they make up a completely insignificant and irrelevant number of EV purchasers. China is the top EV seller in the world and together with Tesla, they are the most technologically advanced EVs in the world today.

 

I also like the Ioniq 5 and EV6 very much but Kia/Hyundai are unable to produce and sell them at a profit currently, thus the low volumes being produced and sold in markets that doesn’t have that much Chinese competition at the moment.

The repression of the religious and cultural identity of the people of Tibet. Forced labour. Tiananmen square, where thousands of young students were slaughtered by the government for protesting peacefully.

 

China, the World’s leading executioner, where the death penalty remains applicable for 46 offences, including non-lethal offences that do not meet the threshold of the most serious crimes under international law.

 

Giving Covid 19 to the world by keeping international flights open but locking down all internal travel.

 

Hong Kong.; complete repression of all freedom of speech.

 

Manipulating the Covid health phone app to spy on, and make “disappear” any anti-government activists.

 

Ignoring the judgment by an international tribunal in The Hague which came down overwhelmingly in favour of claims by the Philippines, regarding territory in the South China Sea. Militarisation of reefs and atolls in the sea, against international law.

 

Continually threatening to occupy Taiwan by military force.

 

The belt and road initiative with corrupt states, designed to blackmail them into ceding land to them, usually land where a deep water military naval base can be built.

 

Setting up illegal “police stations” in foreign countries.
