webfact Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Picture: Siam Rath Chaos ensued at the Laem Chabang port as over 300 disgruntled tourists, both Thai and foreigners, protested following a cruise ticket debacle, reported Siam Rath. The tourists had purchased their tickets online via a website for a price of THB 5,999 each. Their itinerary included a journey starting on May 16th, returning on May 19th, with the final destination being the city of Sihanoukville, Cambodia. However, upon arriving at the designated time to board the ship, they were met with a surprise. They were unable to board the ship as the captain informed them that their names were not in the system. This sparked outrage among the tourists who had already paid for the trip in full. As the situation escalated, police officers from the Laem Chabang Police Station were called in to mediate and control the situation. Picture: Siam Rath The tourists collectively expressed their frustration and suspicion, questioning why they could not board the ship even though they had paid the full amount beforehand. The incident sparked a wave of protest from the tourists, leading to law enforcement stepping in. The cause of this issue is currently under investigation, and it remains uncertain as to why these tourists were not listed in the system despite having made payments. The resolution of this situation is eagerly awaited by the distressed travelers as well as others following the incident. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-05-20 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Hmmm ... 2
