BHUMJAITHAI Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul today (May 22) posted a photo on his personal Facebook page showing him with his sweetheart during a family trip to pray and relax in Hong Kong over the weekend along with a caption, “It’s like this yet news spread of coming to Hong Kong to set up a government.”

Over the weekend rumours had spread that former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, invariably viewed as de facto Pheu Thai party boss who has been living in self-exile overseas following the 2006 coup, had travelled to Hong Kong and was holding talks with leaders of many political parties.

According to these rumours aside from Anutin others included Saksayam Chidchob, Bhumjaithai’s secretary-general, Chalermchai Sri-on, Democrat Party’s secretary-general, and some leaders of Palang Pracharath party.

Would have beem nice if the "Thai Newsroom" give us the mathematics, how many MPs different coalitions could get. To see if it is a possible solution or not.

These talks, held over a meal, centred on the possibility of setting up a coalition government should Move Forward Party led by Pita Limjaroenrat, which won the most MP seats in the general election totalling 152, fail to do so, the rumours said.

Translation:

PT want to form their own government, without MF, which will include Anutin and Prawit, so that Thaksin get a free out of jail card

Never forget the debacle he made of the covid response and the subsequent lies he made. A very horrible man.

Not too different than what most other countries did....if you ignore the silly things he said.

Instead of keeping a close eye on what is going on in his homeland, be it the formation of a (new?) government or the exploding Covid figures - as per the news ........... he sits in Hong Kong with his sweetheart on something resembling high tea (with a terrible cup of coffee when looking at the picture).

There is more to the story, he could have high tea of colonial proportions at the author's lounge at the Oriental - the real thing ???? me thinks :-)
