Chonburi — Banglamung Police rounded up a Thai couple for transporting illegal drugs around the Chonburi area.

Today, May 28th, Banglamung Police swooped in on a Thai couple, Mr. Anuchit “Games” Chitchikun, 26, and Ms. Kanokporn “Nat” Kaewrurit, 23, on suspicions that they were involved in a major drug agent network largely operating in the Chonburi, Bangkok, and Nonthaburi provinces.

The authorities seized from the couple a total of 708 grams of ice (crystal meth), 940 grams of ketamine, 285 ecstasy pills, 8 sachets of rainbow-colored Happy Water, and one sedan car.

At today’s press conference, Pol. Col. Navin Sinthurat, chief of police of the Banglamung Police Station, stated that the apprehension was a result of the urgent orders from Pol. Maj. Gen. Kumpol Leelapraporn, Commander of the Chonburi Provincial Police, who instructed all police officers in Chonburi to eradicate all forms of illegal activities, following the policy of the Royal Thai Police.

The probability is that there many more of young Thai people engaged in the drug's trade, the lure of easy money is too much to resist, and when they end up in jail, mai pen rai, their lives don't matter much anyway.

Particularly when they have so few career ladders to climb out of abject poverty.

I knew a young woman who was ranked in the top ten in Thailand for the game "go." She traveled world wide giving demonstrations and made very  good money doing so. Her family told her "That is not an honorable job" and put her to work in a bank. The serious lack of income from an "honorable" job had her borrowing money for mere survival. What chances do the truly uneducated have here?

which is; 'don't do what we do or you will be considered as our competition.'
