If you found 12 million baht in a box near the trash, would you keep it?
I strongly reject that insinuation. If I found how ever much money that wasn't mine I couldn't keep it with a clear conscience. I was surprised to see so many comments suggesting they'd keep the money; though I hope in reality that wouldn't be so. -

Greta Thunberg’s Gaza Aid Voyage Sparks Controversy After Senator’s Mocking Remark
Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard has criticized Greta Thunberg for her social media plea for her friends and supporters to put pressure on the Swedish government to win her release from Israeli custody. According to the Foreign Minister, the video plea resulted in hundreds of people calling the hotline number the Foreign Ministry uses for Swedes in distress while abroad. "This means that there is currently, as a result of this campaign, a very long waiting time that seriously risks affecting Swedes all over the world who need immediate consular assistance, says Malmer Stenergard to journalists." The Foreign Minister describes the action as irresponsible and "very, very serious." "It is obvious that people have been encouraged to contact the Foreign Ministry in a way that risks affecting other Swedish citizens who are actually in distress. Then I think people should think about what responsibility they themselves have in that." https://swedenherald.com/article/swedish-foreign-ministry-monitors-greta-thunbergs-situation-in-gaza When speaking before the Swedish Parliament, Malmer Stenergard said the Foreign Ministry and Swedish embassy in Tel Aviv are monitoring the situation. "Our assessment at present is that no one on board is in danger and that they therefore do not have any need for consular assistance at present." The Foreign Ministry said separately that should Thunberg request consular aid, she would be given it like any other Swedish citizen. Malmer Stenergard emphasized Thunberg and the other activists have a "clear personal responsibility." "The crew and passengers on Madleen are aware of the risks of this campaign, the Foreign Ministry has advised against traveling to Gaza for ten years and they have a clear personal responsibility if they disregard an advisory, which I have also been very clear about in many different contexts, she says in the parliamentary chamber." https://swedenherald.com/article/swedish-foreign-ministry-monitors-greta-thunbergs-situation-in-gaza -

Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
So... You wont need to 'plan' the arrival... TDAC is simple... (just fill out within 3 days of arrival)... Visa on arrival is the same (ensure you have a return ticket or onward travel and meet cash requirements - just in case). Once you have travelled in and out a couple of times (Visa exempt or on a Tourist Visa) you may need to look at a longer term plan / options to ensure you don't raise the eyebrows of the Immigration officers on further trips... (i.e. if retired and over 50, plan on staying here a long time... season 800,000 baht in a Thai account and apply for a Non-Imm O visa based on retirement etc... and ensuing extensions). -

Report Alleged Imposter Lures Teen in Chon Buri; Mother Vows Legal Action
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod In a disturbing incident in Chon Buri's Mueang Sattahip district, an 18-year-old man allegedly pretended to be a police spy to lure a 14-year-old girl from her home. The girl was subsequently handcuffed and dragged into a nearby banana grove. Her mother, identified as A, has filed charges against the suspect and is determined to see the case through to its conclusion. The incident unfolded on the night of June 8, around 11:30pm, when the girl received threatening messages from the man, claiming he was a police spy and warning her of arrest unless she met him outside. Alarmed by the threats, the girl was coerced into meeting him near her home in Chuen Suk 5 village, about 50 metres away. Once at the grove, the suspect handcuffed her right hand and forced her left arm behind her back, insisting he needed to take her for questioning and instructing her not to disclose the encounter. Demonstrating remarkable courage, the girl fought back, kicking the man in the groin and stomach, which allowed her to escape and rush back home, calling for help along the way. Upon her return, her mother discovered bruising on her daughter’s wrists and body, especially where the handcuffs had been applied. The girl, visibly shaken, remained in terror and distress, unable to stop crying. Her mother, who battles depression and requires medication to sleep, was initially unaware of her daughter’s absence. She asserted her daughter has no links to drugs or e-cigarettes, refuting the man's accusations. It emerged that the suspect had previously attempted to contact the girl during the Songkran festival, seeking to initiate a relationship through chat messages. After a brief pause, he resurfaced, employing the same deceptive tactics to entice her out of her home. The mother reported additional injuries on her daughter's buttocks, shoulders, and wrists, and the clear imprint of handcuffs. The incident left the girl traumatised, especially anxious at the sight of anyone resembling the assailant. Determined to seek justice, the mother has reported the matter to the police, insisting on legal pursuit. It was noted that the handcuffs used were atypical and not standard issue for police use. The Sattahip police are actively investigating the case and are working to apprehend the suspect to face legal proceedings. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-06-10
