Sounds like Russia/Ukraine. Morally questionable or something else?

OK but dont call an ASEAN meeting, if you are protecting Thailand's interests do it bi-laterally and be prepared to take the international criticism that will follow.

The only internal affairs the illegitimate caretakers are worried about is the potential halt to their cash from the burmese butchers who they are intrinsically linked to and often relate to the murderers as their brothers. Nuff said.

It's not up to other countries or "experts" to dictate Thailand's foreign policy, or describe Thai diplomacy as undiplomatic. Who do these people think they are?

"We don’t take any sides, but we need to talk to seek solutions to the problems, that’s it. The other things are Myanmar’s internal affairs, and we don’t get involved,” Prayut said

-end quote-

how basic and how wrong! by not taking a side you are by default siding with the status quo, which happens to be the military junta that overthrew the democratically elected government. interesting how much experience Prayut has with that scenario, but of course he doesn't admit the irony

Wow, just wow ! *more than reasonable* to do trade with a murderous regime and it’s crazy dictator ?

For clarity, which country are you talking about ?

Sad creatures just covering their tracks before the inevitable. Birds of a feather and all that.

International reputation: Myanmar is good friend with China and Russia...just the two biggest countries on the planet.

Quite right!

All it takes for a good, brutal and repulsive dictatorship to succeed , is for international Democratic governments or weak or appeasement governments to sit on their well-oiled haunches - self-satisfied with their recent snuffling at the pig trough!

Don't rock our hi-so money boat!

Wait another month and see what Mr. Pita's (PM) thoughts and plans on their neighbours situation will be.....current Junta have no say in the matter...............
