A Thai man tragically died after cutting off his penis with a grass strimmer at a forest park in the Isaan province of Nong Bua Lamphu. The strimmer blade snapped and accidentally sliced his penis and groin area causing a severe loss of blood.

Tourism officials in Thailand remain optimistic that the kingdom will welcome 5 million Chinese tourists this year. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has set a target of 5.3 million visitors from China, generating revenue of 446 billion baht. This is a downgrade from their own predictions earlier this year of a robust return of Chinese tourists into Thailand.

Green snake startles Thai classroom, valiant rescue ensues

In an unusual turn of events, a green snake took refuge in a Thai classroom, catching the horrified attendees by surprise. It was only with the arrival of local rescue teams that the smooth capture of the intruding reptile took place. No harm was inflicted upon the students or faculty during the unexpected incident. The incident took place at Pon Thong Pattana Wittaya School, located in Sranokkaew, Pon Thong, Roi Et Province.

A video has been widely shared on social media showing an irate youth attacking a mentally ill man with a stick in a fit of anger. The disturbing incident took place today near Praratchawong Police Station, at the mouth of the Talad canal in the Phra Nakhon district of Bangkok. The agitated young man’s outbursts have provoked discussions among viewers about the display of raw hostility.

The northern city of Chiang Mai has experienced intense demand for lottery numbers as locals seek out lucky digits ahead of Saturday’s draw. This surge in activity was observed at 9am today, across various locations including markets, transportation hubs, major streets, and key spots like the Chiang Mai Gate and Nong Hoy. The going rate for a single lottery ticket was primarily set at 100 baht (US$2.8), and collection bundles were priced between 110 to 120 baht (US$3 to US$3.3).

Chiang Rai couple arrested over 24 million baht investment fraud

A couple involved in an investment scam in Chiang Rai has been apprehended. The husband, a 36 year old former government official turned investment advisor, and his 37 year old wife, are accused of defrauding investors out of 24 million baht (US$672,457) through their company K1FX Trader Club. The arrests followed a warrant issued by the Nakhon Pathom court after multiple complaints were lodged against the couple.

SRT modernisation: State railway plans 1.5 billion baht investment in electric trains

In an attempt to modernise and become more efficient, Thailand’s State Railway (SRT) has shifted its attention towards procuring electric trains as opposed to previously planned diesel locomotives. In the words of SRT’s head, Nirut Maneephan, the altered proposal has gained the green light from the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and the SRT modernisation plan with an unchanged fund allocation of 1.5 billion baht is all set to be presented to the new administration.
