PDP11
I used to have skin cancer screening done at a major university hospital in the USA. I’ve had both basal cell carcinoma and “pre” melanoma. I now need to get this done in Bangkok every six months. Can anyone recommend a good doctor / facility in the area that does this, along with removal and analysis of suspicious moles? I assume Bumrungrad is the default choice but perhaps there are specialists I’m not aware of?
Klong Song
I think Sheryl will be along to say that Dr Anna in Pattaya should be your go to doctor.
swm59nj
While living in Bangkok I saw one of two dermatologists depending on availability. One was at Samitivej Hospital. Dr. SAISAMON AKARAWONG The other at Bumrungard. Dr Niyom Tantikun
SunnyinBangrak
Please update this thread after you got your skin checked out. In the same situ, but travel abroad to see my specialist. It is very inconvenient to put it mildly would be great to have a trustworthy expert here to do the checks.

JimHuaHin
During my first couple of years in Thailand I saw Dr Niyom at Bumrungrad Skin Center, and he is very good. However, one year he was away, and I saw Dr. Nicha instead, and she is excellent - takes pictures of any moles which maybe potential problems and checks the original pictures when I have my six-month follow-up check. Cost is usually about Baht 2,000, without meds or treatments. I have yet to find a competent skin cancer dermatologist in Hua Hin.
Tropposurfer
Bangkok Nursing Hospital (BNH) have a lovely dermatology clinic and while you wait for you're appointment you can sit in the foyer and listen to the excellent piano player they often have tinkling the ivory's. I use them and have for years and always get super treatment. I've had so many basal cell carcinoma's cut off my aging but buff body (lol ????) the fake stories of me being an ex-SAS hero might, if one were to view my many cancer scars, actually be believed lol ???? I've had basal cell carcinoma removed in both places. At Bumrungrad, where I had some removed from my nose, I also had a skin graft done by their cosmetic surgeon to fill the spot where they removed the disc of skin. I'm very pleased with the result of that. People don't even notice unless I point it out. Pricey, but worth it.
Sheryl
Moved to Health forum. Skin cancers are rare in Thailand and experience with them is limited here. One has to consider not only the skill of the detmatologist but also of the pathologist. The best doctor for this is in Pattaya: https://www.bangkokpattayahospital.com/en/doctor-profile?v_id=7&depid=2 US Board certified and worked in US for many years; specifically specializes in skin cancer. Well worth the trip to see her. If unable/unwilling to go to Pattaa second best option would be the government Institutd od Dermatology https://www.iod.go.th/en/ 1
