Popular Post Thaddee
Great article about another act of overzealousness on the part of Thai Immigration. I think they must go by a junta-book, not unlike a country next door. What is Section 38 anyway ? Care to explain ? Is this article about something that has changed in the law or simply they have decided to enforce the law as a swan song ? 1 1 1

(TM 30) The law has been in place more than 40 years. Maybe read up on it? https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1690

Haven't you ever seen Thai cops taking pictures of themselves at road junctions? They do it to show their boss they're not watching telly in the police box. Immigration officers need to chase down some clueless but mostly innocent foreigner for pics to show their worth. It could also just be a slow day at Siam Wrath. An actual translation of the Immigration Act can be found here: http://www.samutprakanimmigration.go.th/downloads/Immigration_Act.pdf and it states that the reporting applies to foreigners on temporary permission of stay. Permanent residents are not on temporary permission to stay and are therefore exempt from reporting under Section 38.
